Y6SP - Crafty Kingfishers 2020 - 2021
Welcome to class 6P
We are now in Year 6 - our final year at Reedley!
Our class teacher: Miss Pool
Our teaching assisants: Ms Price-hunt and Mrs Dar
Our PPA teacher (Tuesday morning): Miss Radcliffe
Our Class Expectations
This will need to be completed electronically for the time being due to our school's COVID safety procedures.
HOMEWORK BOOKS WILL NOT BE GOING HOME JUST YET.
Miss Pool will always take the time to quickly go through the homework to make sure the children understand what is being asked of them and will focus on the class learning for that current week.
The homework will consist of Bug Club, My Maths and Reading for Pleasure bookmarks at this time.
Our P.E. day is a Friday. The children only require their school pumps at this moment in time. NO PE KITS!
Reading books will be sent home on Thurdays, brought back in to school only on a Tuesday to get them changed.
Please do not bring them in on any other day.
Reading For Pleasure!
This is something that is strongly emphasized throughout school. Each child will recieve a bookmark with tasks to be completed each week. Children will not have their homework books to take home at the moment, they will need to complete these tasks on paper. It has been decided that a child can complete upto a maximum of three tasks per week. The bookmarks are based on animals this year and will go through the alphabet.
We are the Curious Bactrian Camels!
Mrs Daley and Miss Harvey are very happy to welcome you in to Year 5. We have lots of exciting things planned for you this year, we can't wait to get started.
We are very proud of our Eco Council and School Council representatives.
There are some important pieces of information that will help you in Year 5:
PE kits: PE kits should be in school now and will stay in school for the rest of the half-term, when they can be taken home to be washed ready for the next half-term.
Homework: Homework books are given with homework suitable for your child on a Thursday, this is expected to be returned to school no later than the following Tuesday.
Reading Records: Reading books have been given out to your child (only 1 book for now) with their reading record. We expect and advise that your child reads atleast 3 times a week (more than this would be great!).
Passwords for home learning: Passwords for things such as Bug club and mymaths have been given to your child and stuck in to their homework book. It is important we remind children about online safety and refraining from sharing passwords with other children.
Bookmarks: Reading for Pleasure bookmarks are stuck in to the back of your child’s homework book. Children can complete a maximum of 3 activities a week. Certificates are given out the following Friday for completing a bookmark.
Your child will have a list of their passwords to access a range of websites to help them with their learning. If your child loses a password, please remind them to ask an adult in our class to retrieve their passwords.
