03.01.21 School will reopen on Monday 4th January

Reedley Primary School - Achieving Today For Tomorrow`s World

Sunday, 03 January 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

School will reopen on Monday 4th January.

There have been a number of news reports that primary schools may not reopen as planned.

Unless we hear anything different from the government throughout the rest of today, school will reopen tomorrow. If anything changes before tomorrow morning, we will contact you immediately via text.

As we are now in a Tier 4 area, we need to ensure that we do all we can to prevent the spread of any possible infection.

Ways in which you can help:

- Monitor your family for symptoms of COVID-19. Book a test immediately for any family member who has symptoms and DO NOT SEND CHILDREN TO SCHOOL IF THEY HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ANYONE DISPLAYING SYMPTOMS unless that person receives a negative test result.

- Adults and children over the age of 12 who are entering the playground, should consider wearing a face covering whilst on school premises.

- Limit the number of adults/older children entering the playground to drop off and pick up, to one person per family.

- Ensure that there is always a gap of 2 metres between families entering and leaving the playground and whilst waiting to collect your children. This may mean that it takes you longer when leaving the playground, but please remember that this is necessary for safety reasons.

- Ensure that children are dropped off at school between 8.40am and 8.55am. Children arriving after this time, mix with people outside of their year group bubble in order to get to their classroom.

- Ensure that children are collected at the agreed time and no later than 3.30pm.

-Follow all the Tier 4 restrictions, which include:

Meeting others safely

In general, you must not meet socially or carry out any activities with another person. However, you can exercise or meet in a public outdoor place with people you live with, your support bubble (or as part of a childcare bubble), or with one other person.

You should minimise time spent outside your home. When around other people, stay 2 metres apart from anyone not in your household – meaning the people you live with – or your support bubble.

You must not meet socially indoors with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble.

1 in 3 people who have coronavirus have no symptoms and will be spreading it without realising it.

For full details, you can search for the information online:

We look forward to seeing the children tomorrow. As always, we are doing everything we can to ensure that children and staff are safe whilst at school. If we are notified of any positive cases in your child’s year group, we will close the year group to allow all members of the bubble to isolate. In this circumstance, your child must carry out home learning. The number of children successfully completing their home learning at Reedley is very low, which is concerning. We cannot allow our children to fall behind as a result of COVID. Please do all you can to support your child’s regular weekly homework tasks and any home-learning.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Sarah Bell
