Reedley Primary School - Achieving Today For Tomorrow`s World

Thursday, 28 April 2022

Dear Families,

It is with deepest regret that I write to inform you of a road accident that happened this morning involving one of our children.  We have sent out several letters urging you to keep your children safe by parking safely and legally and we monitor road traffic as much as we are able.  Fortunately, although the child had to go to hospital, they were not seriously hurt.  However, it has left the child and their family incredibly shaken as the situation could have been much worse.

The family of the child have provided us with a message that they would like us to share with our community in the hope that it will help us to keep our children safe.

Note from a concerned parent:

“I am the parent of a child that attends Reedley Primary School.  My child was knocked over by a car that mounted the pavement.

First and foremost, we all love our children and wouldn’t want any harm to come to them, such that we take utmost care for their wellbeing.  We need to show this care and consideration to other children too, especially whilst taking our children to and from school. We clearly have a problem around parking and driving around Reedley Primary School.

As a parent whose child has suffered an injury following an accident, I strongly urge all parents and drivers travelling to and from school to be extra vigilant.  Please, please, please show care and consideration to others whilst driving and parking around the school vicinity.

We were most fortunate Alhamdulilah that on this occasion the injury sustained was not serious.  I cannot thank Allah SWT enough for ultimately watching over my child.

Please read this heartfelt humble request from a parent – we must act now!  We need to help each other collectively, as a community, to ensure the safety and well-being of our children by driving safely and responsibly

Shahzad.”

Thank you for your continued support in helping to keep our community safe.
