Autumn Term 1

Bikeability in Year 6, took place on November 2021. 

Although the weather wasn't the best , the children throughly enjoyed the challenges before them.

Learning how to cycle safely on the road - right turns, left turns, U turns and over taking vehicles.

Mixed football tourament 15/10/21 at the Leisure Box.

English

We have already been learning lots of new skills. We know how to write formal and informal letters by following a success criteria and have practised writing our own biographies. 

Walt Disney has been one of our main focus points this half term and we have have been extremely proud of our work. A highlight for us was using Talk 4 Write to help us learn important dates of Walt Disney. We had a lot of fun with this and all produced some amazing work at the end.

Autumn 2

Our focus has been on the novel, 'Goodnight Mister Tom'. We are creating our own characters for our own version of a story. 

Autumn Term 2

Art Week

Clarice Cliff - a ceramic artist from Stoke-on-Trent born 1899, famous for Bizarre, Crocus and Fantasque ranges.

P.E.- Gymnastics

Learning balanve, a forward roll and a handstand.

English - We are reading the novel Goodnight Mr Tom, by Michelle Magorian, set in World war 2, about a young evacuee from London.

Learning how to write an informal letter, using expanded noun phrases.

History - To follow on from our novel, Goodnight Mr Tom, we shall be learning about World War 2. Who were the Allies, the Axis? Also about the Blitz, evacuees, Anderson shelters, Auchwitz and much more.

Theme - Design Technology - making a periscope. This follows on from our preivios topic Light .
