Maths:

This half term, our key learning in maths will be place value, negative numbers, co-ordinates, and calculation.

At the start of Autumn Term, we will be revisiting and consolidating our understanding of place value of numbers up to 10,000,000 (ten million) and rounding numbers with up to 3 decimal places to the nearest whole numbers or 1 or 2 decimal places. We will then be ordering, comparing, adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers in context. For co-ordinates, we will be describing positions on a four-quadrant grid, translating points and shapes, and reflecting points and shapes on the grid. We will then be looking at using negative numbers in contexts, involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with decimals.
