Attendance

Overall our school attendance is 94.88%. This is getting closer to our target.

Well done to Year 4 Otter class who achieved 100% attendance.

This is the first class that have achieved 100% in this school year. Well done!

The children will bring home their traffic light attendance chart next week.

This will enable you to see your child’s attendance for the first half term.

Punctuality

Year 5 T Dragonfly Class had no lates this week

Overall, there were 6 hours and 11 minutes of lates.

Lessons start promptly at 8.50am.

Events This Week:

·         Y4 children visited Astley Hall to learn about the Industrial Resolution

·         Year 2 had a visit from a dog as part of their topic on caring for animals

·         Thank you to everyone who took part in Yellow Day yesterday to promote wellbeing in children. Please ask your children what they understand about wellbeing - they should have lots of ideas of things they can do to support a happy lifestyle.

Events Next Week

·         Y5 trip to Clitheroe Castle Y5T on Monday 14^th October and Y5H on Thursday 17^th October

·         Flu immunisations will take place on Friday 18^th October

·         Year 4 to have Lego workshop on Thursday 17^th October – please send a contribution of £2 or more to help us with the cost. This lesson will cost the school over £400.

Art week sessions

Families are invited into school at the following times to see what their child is learning in art week and maybe to have a go at a bit of art work themselves.

Rock Kidz are visiting our school on Monday 28^th October.

We are asking all staff and pupils to dress as a pop or rock star for the day.

Please ensure all outfits are appropriate for a day in school.

You do not need to send any money for this as we have already asked you to contribute to this event.

During the day, all children will get to take part in the music workshop along a theme of anti-bullying.

At the end of the day there will be an opportunity to meet the team and buy merchandise.

This will be in the playground, unless it is raining, in which case it will be in the hall.

All purchases can be made with cash or card. Here is what we will have on sale with prices:

Soccer School

Just a reminder that there is a proposed soccer school for Half Term (21^st October to 25^th October). This will be run by Pro-Sport Coaching, here at Reedley.

If you are thinking about booking, please ensure you do so soon. If there are not enough bookings, it may need to be cancelled.

It is £12 for a day or £50 for the week.

You can bring the money into school and book on that way if you prefer.

Restart a Heart

Lancashire Adult Learning are offering a parental online course to provide you with the skills to save a life if someone suffers a heart attack. Further details are at the end of the newsletter

Key Dates

·         Parent/carer meetings with teachers on Tuesday 15^th October and Wednesday 16^th October. Appointments must be made via School Spider, bookings will be closed tonight. 

·         Art week – week beginning Monday 28^th October. Parents/carers will be invited into school for designated slots.

·         Y5 trip to Clitheroe Castle Y5T on Monday 14^th October and Y5H on Thursday 17^th October

·         School will be closed from Monday 21^st October to Friday 25^th October for half term.

·         Monday 28^th October  - Rock Kidz On Tour are visiting school. On this day children can dress as a rock or pop star or just in non-uniform if they prefer. Please ensure that all outfits are appropriate and suitable for school.

·         School photographs will be on Friday 1^st November

·         School will be closed from Monday 23^rd December for the Christmas holiday, and reopen on Tuesday 7^th January.
