Dear Parents/Carers,

Punctuality

We had 6 hours and 15 minutes of lates this week, meaning vital learning is still being missed by some children.

Please ensure that your child is in school before the gates closes at 8.50am each day.

Attendance

Our overall attendance for this week is 94.2%.

This is below our target of 96%.

There are only 3 classes who have achieved the target of 96%+.

5 classes have met our target this week!

Sycamore Y2C, Candy Tuft Y3E, Silver Posie Y3R, Sacred Lotus Y5 and Irises Y6E

Overall for the half term, Silver Posie Class (Y3R) has won the attendance award

and Willow Class (Y2S) has won the punctuality award.

Both of these classes can have a non-uniform day for their class on Tuesday 18th July.

Next week, your child will bring home their attendance traffic light sheet. All the children who are on ‘green’ since Easter will also take part in a treat next week.

StudyBugs

Please make sure that you have made a StudyBugs account and that you use this to inform us

School Spider

We are still using School Spider as well as StudyBugs. You must stay continually logged in to the School Spider App or you will not receive messages from school.

Exercise Books

Children from Y1 – Y6 will be bringing home their completed exercise books on Wednesday. You might like to send your child with a carrier bag to put them in, to help carry them home.

Events this week

-Y5 and Y6 children had their Sports Day on Monday morning.

Then, the weather was against us for Year 3 and 4 as the Sports Day was called off due to rain, just as the children were about to start, but we finally managed to hold their Sports Day on Thursday.

-Year 2 children has a great dance session provided by Sanderson Dance

-Year 4 and Year 5 children had a great coding session run by JamCoding – who will be delivering the Coding Club for Year 5 and Year 6 children in September.

Team Points

Each week, the children from Y1  to Y6 collect points for their team. This half term Calder team won. They will be rewarded with an extra playtime next week.

The winners of the Eid card competition are:

Clubs for September

There is still chance to sign up for the Coding and Mad Science Clubs for September.

The Frisbee and Archery clubs are now full and children will be taking home a slip next week to confirm whether they have a place in these clubs or not. If they haven’t, there will be further opportunities for these children later in the year to have places in clubs.

A reminder about the clubs:

Spelling Bee

Yousaf Sajjad, Juwayriya Ashraf and Yahya Atif did an amazing job at representing Reedley School in the Spelling Bee, competing against children from other local schools.

We were very proud of all of their efforts to get to the grand final.

Yousaf came first for Y2 across all 13 schools and won a trophy.

Online Safety

I have attached an online safety guide this week with some reminders for how children can stay safe online over the summer break.

This includes:

  • Enabling privacy settings
  • Taking frequent breaks from activities on screen
  • Thinking, before they post or send messages
  • Keeping personal details private

Upcoming School Holidays

Summer Holidays

School will close at 1.30pm on Friday 21st July
