Reading Buddies 2023 - 2024

We are incredibly proud of our Reading Buddies in school.  They are a group of Year 5 and Year 6 children who work with children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to help them with their reading.  They listen to the children read, help them to decode new words and improve their comprehension.  They are great!

Each of the Reading Buddies has had special training from Mrs Gorrell in how to help younger children become better readers.  They take their responsibilities very seriously in school and work hard to be a really good role model for our younger children.  Some of our Reading Buddies remember working with their buddy when they were in Year 2 and wanted to inspire the younger ones as they enjoyed it so much.
