Autumn 2

Nativity

We have worked so hard to learn all of the songs so we could perform our nativity for the school and our grown ups. The children wriggled and danced with lots of enthusiasm.

Maths

We have been learning about numbers 4 and 5. We have made the numbers using resources such as 10 frames, objects,bead string and numicion. We have also used part-part whole models and learnt to partition numbers.

We have been leraning about circles and trainagles. We used these shapes to create our art work.

Making bags

Some children in our class made paper bags in the mark making area. We then discussed which materials would be best to make bags. Children were able to use a stapler independently whilst making their bags.

We then used our phonics knowledge to write sentences about our bags.

Autumn Walk

We have had lots of fun learning about the changes that happen in autumn. We went on an autumn walk around school and collected lots of autumn leaves and pinecones.
We used the leaves to do some printing.

We have been sorting pictures into daytime and nighttime.

Construction Area

We enjoy making models in our construction area.

We used double sided counters to look at the composition of 4 and 5.

Bonfire Night

The children have been getting creative, using a range of materials to make their own firework hats and bonfire pictures.

Diwali

Our Reception classes have been learning about Diwali, the Festival of Lights. The children have been extremely creative and have enjoyed making: diva lamps, creating rangoli patterns and making delicious biscuits.

We also enjoyed dressing up!
