Y2 World Book Day Reading
Start: 6th Mar 2025 9:45am
Duration: 30 minutes
World Book Day 2025, a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) reading, will take place on Thursday 6th March. The theme this year is ‘Read Your Way’ and encourages children and adults to discover how much fun and enjoyment they can have when reading or sharing a book.
We will be taking part in the celebrations and, if they wish, children can come to school dressed as a character from a fiction or non-fiction book of their choice. This could be from a traditional fairy tale, a science fiction story, an adventure story, a story by their favourite author, an information text – the possibilities are endless! There are some ideas on the World Book Day site: https://www.worldbookday.com/resource/dressing-up-ideas-for-parents/
We would love to invite you into school to join in the celebrations with us on Thursday 6th March. Each year group will be holding a half hour session for you to come and read with your child(ren). The timings are below:

There are more activities that you can share at home with your child. Details can be found on the World Book Day website: https://www.worldbookday.com/families/
We are excited about the day and look forward to seeing you celebrating with your child in school.
