- Kingfisher Class Y4R 04%
- Starling Class Y4P 96.67%
WELL DONE!
Cold Weather
As the weather has turned colder this week, there may be some days that we need your children to enter through different entrances. Our aim is to keep the school open for the children as long as it is safe to do so. Please check your messages before you set off if you think the weather is snowy. We will aim to send any messages to you as soon as we have made a decision in a morning.
Please take extra care on the roads and pavements when it is snowy and icy. Please also ask all drivers to ensure that they abide by the law with regard to parking, especially when the weather is poor.
Events This Week
- Thank your for all your very generous donations of sweets and chocolates for the Christmas Fair.
- Some Year 2 children attended a sporting event at Colne Sport’s Centre
- Year 6 children made and sold some delicious biscuits as part of their enterprise project. Well done Year 6, I know you had to work hard to plan and create your biscuits.
- 24 children have received awards for their times tables this week. This is an amazing achievement, especially from children in Year 5.
- Upcoming Events
Tickets will be available to buy on Friday 8th December for the Meet The Elves event, taking place at the Christmas Fair on Thursday 14th December.
Wraparound Care
I wrote to you yesterday and asked you to use the QR code below to give your views on wraparound care. (Before and after school provision). Please complete this if you haven’t yet done so.
New for 2024, we will be putting new provision in place for wraparound care. This will be a breakfast club and a new daily after-school club. It will not be run by school staff anymore, as we are finding it hard to meet the requirements that you need.
Instead, we have found a fantastic and experienced lady who will be running an Ofsted-registered club. She has lots of exciting ideas for different activities that she will be providing for the children, along with her staff.
We will provide you with more information over the next couple of weeks in relation to the timings, the costs of the sessions and the activities that will be available, along with the date that this will start.
COMPETITION TIME
We would like our children to help us come up with a name and logo for our new care club.
The logos can be done on any paper and must be brought into school no later than Monday 11th December. The winning logo/name will be rewarded with a cinema voucher for up to 4 people.
Until we can get some new provision in place, I would ask that you only send your child between 8.15am and 8.25am if you want them to arrive before school starts. We do not have provision to look after them if they arrive before this time, or if they arrive after 8.25am. I am concerned that some children are waiting outside school on their own for up to 20 minutes.
Nativity
Our nativity shows for Reception and Year 1 will take place on Monday 11th December at 2pm
Tuesday 12th December at 9.30am.
The Year 1 children will be performing the nativity and the Reception children will be singing festive songs.
Year 1/Reception parents, if you haven’t requested tickets yet for the Nativity show, then please speak to your child’s classteacher.
