04.02.21 Information about Year Group Assemblies and Feedback Survey
Thursday, 04 February 2021
Dear Parent/Carer,
Starting from Monday 8th February, I am going to run a series of online assemblies for the children. This will take place each Monday until the children are back in school. This will be so that the children can see each other and feel like they are still part of the school community. Each assembly will last for approximately 10 minutes and will be specifically for each year group.
Parents/carers are welcome to watch too!

How to access the assembly
The invite to access the assemblies will be posted on the School Spider App over the weekend.
We will be using Zoom to run the sessions.
These are the rules:
- All participants, other than school staff, will be muted and need to remain so throughout
-Participants can choose to have their videos on or off
-The chat facility will be disabled
-The sessions are not going to be recorded, and no participant should record any part of the session
-All participants must be dressed in day clothes (no night-clothes please!)
-Participants need to be ready to join at the designated time
-Participants may need to download Zoom to a device, prior to the meeting. I suggest you test this well in advance. As the sessions are no more than 10 minutes in length, you may miss out if you do not join on time
-The invites are for pupils of Reedley School and must not be shared with anyone outside of the school
-Anyone who breaks the rules will be cut off and their families will receive a phone-call about any poor conduct
-Children in school will join the assembly and be able to see the participants, but their video will be off, so they will not appear on screen - unless the whole group has returned a permission slip agreeing for them to be on the camera
-When you log onto Zoom, someone will let everyone in at the start of the session.
Class Assemblies
If we get enough participants on the Zoom assembly, then class teachers will also deliver a similar weekly assembly for their year group. Details of this will follow, once we have seen how successful the assemblies are on Monday.
Feedback
I have put a survey on the School Spider Website to capture views on the home learning that we are offering. I would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes of your time to complete it. It will really help us to see how else we can support you with the current home learning.
The teachers are working incredibly hard to support your children, so please remember to note the things that are working really well, in addition to suggesting what else school can do to support you.
The survey will open on 04/02/21 and close at 11.00am on 10/02/21.
Thank you for your support,
Mrs Sarah Bell
