08.11.19 Christmas nativity, skipping workshop, Children In Need
Friday, 08 November 2019
Dear Parents/Carers,
Skipping Workshop
All children will be taking part in a skipping workshop over the next couple of weeks.
- Monday 11th November - Year 6, Year 5 and Year 1
- Monday 18th November – Reception, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4
The skipping ropes, similar to those used throughout the day, will be on sale on Monday 11th November and Monday 18th November, at the end of the school day. A number of children purchased the ropes last time and found them to be of very high quality. Ropes will be priced at £4.00. There will also be some adult ropes available at £5.50, so parents/carers can all get involved too!
PE kits
A number of our children do not have the required PE kit in school. This should be brought in immediately after a school holiday and remain in school until the next holiday. It is not acceptable for children not to have the kit in school.
Year 1 and Reception Class Nativity
There will be two performances of the Nativity on Tuesday 10th December at 9.30-10.30 a.m. and 2.00-3.00p.m.
Families in Y1 and Reception will be allocated two tickets per family but will have the opportunity to apply for an additional ticket, but these will only be available if there any spare spaces, we cannot guarantee a third ticket.
Teachers will inform you when tickets are available. This is just an advanced warning for those parents who need to book time off work.
Christmas Fair
We will be having a Christmas Fair on Wednesday 11th December from 3:45 to 5pm.
There will be a non-uniform day on Friday 29th November and we would like the children to bring a donation of a sweets or chocolates, which can be used for the tombola stall. We will remind you about this nearer the time.
Children in Need
Children are asked to support the BBC Children In Need appeal on Friday 15th November by donating £1 per child. In return they will be able to dress in their own clothes for the day, with a theme of bright colours. This is not a ‘fancy dress costume day’ but an opportunity for the children to come in their own clothes.
Year 4 children who will be attending the cinema trip on this day will need to wear their school jumper over their own clothes for the morning session.
Co-opted Governor position
You will be aware that we recruited for a parent governor earlier this year. We have another vacancy on our governing body. This time, the position is not as a parent governor although parents are able to apply. Instead of being voted on by parents though, the governing body will choose who to elect in the role of co-opted governor. We are currently looking for someone who has skills and experience working in the area of special educational needs. If you feel that you have these skills and wish to be considered for the post, please see Mrs Bell or Mrs Iqbal for further details and we will provide you with the required application form. Any completed forms need to be returned to school, no later than Friday 15th November.
Thank you for your support,
Sarah Bell
