Dear Parents/Carers,
Ramadan Kareem
I would like to wish all of our Muslim families a happy and peaceful Ramadan.
Please remember that older children who are fasting during Ramadan can either go home for lunch, remain in the dinner hall or go to a class for quiet reflection. Children need to indicate their choices at the start of each day.
Thank you to staff members that have very kindly volunteered to supervise the children during their own breaktimes.
Attendance
Our overall attendance for this week is 92.68%.
Please note that leave from school will not be authorised as it is the law that children attend school.
Our attendance policy is available on our school website.
Punctuality
We had 5 hr 15 minutes of lates this week, meaning vital learning is still being missed by some children. This is the highest it has been this school year.
Please ensure that your child is in school before the gates closes at 8.50am each day.
World Book Day
All children watched a performance yesterday by Burnley Youth Theatre called Big Bad Wolf.
The children told me that they really enjoyed the show.
Well done to the children (and their families) for the World Book Day costumes.
Throughout the week children have also taken part in workshops with authors online.
Shabana Hussain
A letter was sent home on Monday about an upcoming Author visit with Shabana Hussain, who previously had a child at Reedley. Her new book ‘It’s Madrassa Time’ can be pre-ordered at a discounted rate of £5. Money needs to be sent into school by 25th March and handed to your child’s classteacher. The books will be given out and signed, during her visit on 16th April.
Used Book Sale
Lots of children chose to buy our pre-loved books today for 50p. Thank you again for these donations.
There are some left and we will sell these after school in the hall on Monday. Books are priced at 50p each.

Non-uniform day – Friday 15th March
We usually support the BBC Red Nose Day Appeal and I want our school to support people in the world who really need it. However, rather than support the BBC appeal this year, I have decided that we will hold our own non-uniform day and send the money directly to the Hope For Mankind charity, that we donated to previously. This way, we know that any money we raise will go directly to Palestinian people in need.
Children can come in non-uniform on Friday 15th March and bring a donation.
