10.02.22 Newsletter - Holidays, school day, staff news, safer internet, world book, art week
Holidays
School closes on Friday (11.02.22) for the spring half term holiday. We will re-open on Monday 21.02.22.
I wish you all a very happy half term break, whatever you and your family are doing.
Staff News
Mrs King (star class) has had a baby girl! Both mum and baby are doing really well. I’m sure you will join us in wishing the King family all the best.
Mrs Iqbal (office) is now off work following her operation. Mrs Connolly is covering the office until Mrs Iqbal comes back.
We are delighted to be welcoming Mrs Lambert (Gecko class) back after the half term break. Mrs Campbell will be staying on for a while to make sure that there is some handover time between the two teachers, and also to pick up some intervention work to help children catch up after COVID absences.
World Book Day
Don’t forget WBD on 03.03.22! Children can start bringing in their books in a jar straight after the holidays!
The School Day
We are going back to our ‘normal’ start of the day routine after the half term holidays. The school gate will be opened at 08:40 and will be locked at 08:55.
We will send out a text message to remind you on 21.02.22. Please help your child/ren to get the best out of their time in school by getting them to school on time. Thank you.
Safer Internet Day – 08.02.22
On Tuesday, it was Safer Internet Day. Children learned about staying safe online, particularly around the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online.’ Mrs Wilkinson (‘boss’ of computing at Reedley) is putting some of the work children have done on the school website; it's worth having a look at it. It will be on the ‘Parent Information’ tab and is called ‘Safer Internet Day’.
Art Week 21.02.22 to 25.02.22
The first week back after the half term holiday will be Reedley’s Art Week. Over the week, children in all classes will be taking part in lots of art activities. We can’t invite you in to look at the work as we would have done pre-COVID, but we will make sure that we take lots of photos and share them on the school website in the second week of the half term.
