Dear Parents/Carers,
COVID
Thank you for all your support over the last term. It has been very challenging for everyone and we appreciate your support when we have had to close a year group. We have worked very hard to continue your child’s education, to help them catch up on the missed learning and we will continue to do so in 2021. Staff have also worked to support the children with their social and emotional wellbeing during this difficult time.
It is important that children continue to carry out homework, to help catch up some of the missed learning. The staff will ensure that there is work on the website. The children will also bring home their Knowledge Organiser for their next topic (copies are available on the class pages of the school website). It would really help if you could support them with starting to become familiar with the vocabulary and concepts that they will learn about next term.
POSITIVE COVID TESTS OVER THE HOLIDAYS
It is really important that you inform us, if your child tests positive for COVID during the first week of the school holiday. This is so that we can inform other families if their child has been in contact with the positive case and therefore instruct them that they must isolate for 10 days.
Please contact Mrs Iqbal on a.iqbal@reedley.lancs.sch.uk or 07973543932 between the hours of 9am and 3pm daily, up to 24th December, if your child tests positive for COVID.
NON UNIFORM DAY
Children are able to wear their own clothes to school on Friday 18th December, if they bring a £1 donation for Save The Children. This can be a fancy dress costume, their own clothes or a Christmas themed outfit. Please ensure that it is practical and warm for a day in school.
MESSAGES OF THANKS
As I have mentioned earlier, staff are not able to accept any cards or gifts from the children, but it would be lovely if you could share your kind thoughts with the staff via email. Their email addresses are on the school website and a few kind words of thanks would be warmly welcomed after such a challenging term in school.
SCHOOL CLOSURE
School will close at 3.30pm on Friday 18th December and will re-open on MONDAY 4th JANUARY.
Thank you for your support
Mrs Sarah Bell
