Newsletter 26.11.21 - traffic and sponsor money
Friday, 26 November 2021
Dear Families,
I thought I would write to you with a quick update about events that have happened this week.
Sports Fundraiser
Congratulations to all of the children who have completed their PE Challenge. I know that they have been working incredibly hard, taking part in danceathons, completing fitness circuits and learning multi skills – we are very proud of them.
Sponsor forms will be coming home this week so that the children can share that they have completed their challenge. The children taking part should collect their sponsor money and bring this into school, no later than Monday 6th December. Children who bring money after this time will not be entered into the prize draw or receive a badge. There are a number of rewards available for children who raise some money for the school and all children who bring any money will be receive a certificate.
Children who raise £10 or more will receive a badge for their fundraising and be entered into a draw to win one of the following prizes:
- Signed items from Burnley FC in the Community
- A pair of tickets to attend the Burnley v Leicester football match on 15th January at Turf Moor (there are ten pairs of tickets available)
- A children’s board game (there are five of these available)
Certificates, badges and prizes will be awarded before the children break up for Christmas on Friday 17th December.
Traffic
Traffic around school remains an issue and we are still receiving a number of complaints from local residents. This week, an ambulance needed to attend a resident’s house on Hillside Avenue but was unable to access the road as cars had double parked and not left enough room for other vehicles to pass.
We are also still seeing drivers drop children off on the zig-zags. This is unsafe and breaking the law. Photographs of cars doing this are forwarded to the police.
I cannot emphasise enough how important it is that we all work together to keep our children safe on the roads.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs K. Gorrell
Acting Headteacher
