This weeks learning

In Maths we have been learning about 2D shapes, we have played a ‘mystery bag’ shape game, created 2D shape animals and went on a shape hunt. Could you search around your house for different shapes and describe them?

In Literacy we read the book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. We loved creating story maps using different materials and we labelled the map using our phonics knowledge. We also enjoyed retelling the story using our talk for writing actions and musical instruments.

We loved investigating colour with paint this week. We mixed colours and created our own rainbows. Outdoors we have been focusing on developing children’s ability to work as a team. Children have created racetracks where they carefully moved around the track on the scooter and trike. They worked together to see how far the boat could travel down the guttering. Children also loved joining in with different sports, our teachers helped us keep score. We also used natural materials to create funny faces.
