Maths
This week we are learning about place value. There is a warm up activity and a sheet (which can be easily replicated if you don't have a printer) at the bottom of the page.
To warm up your Maths brain, practise counting forwards to 100 and backwards from 100 to 0. Below are some videos to help you.
If you can do this, make it harder by counting from a random number. For example counting from 32 up to 100 or counting backwards from 46.
Maths worksheet - Using the sheet and your practised counting skills, see if you can solve the missing numbers in the number tracks.
Don't forget you can spend some time on Numbots to help you practise your maths skills too!
English
Below are two short video lessons. For both lessons you will need paper and a pencil.
The first video is the second lesson teaching the concept of plurals. If you have not completed the lesson from yesterday, please go back and complete this grammar lesson first.
The second part of our English lesson is the introduction to our new class story.
Firstly, I will show 3 clues about our story. For each clue, can you write a prediction sentence about how it may link to our story. After you have made predictions about the clues, you may scroll down and watch the video of our new story. There is a short task at the end of the video also.
Phonics
You will need paper and a pencil to complete this lesson.
You can complete more lessons in this play list if you want to practise more of your Phonics skills. All the videos in this playlist are for Year 1.
Reading
Read your reading book.
You could also read any book you have at home or you could use the Oxford Owl eReading Library which has free ebooks to read.
Theme
This topic we will be learning about animals. Below I have attached some sheets with pictures of different animals and you need to add the body part labels to them. You can print the sheets, draw your own version of the animals or you could even look through magazines for pictures to cut out and label. Which ever method you choose, try to do at least 3 different types of animal such as one fish, one bird and one mammal (animal with hair/fur).
