CLITHEROE CASTLE
Class 5CH are going to visit Clitheroe Castle on Tuesday 19th September.
The castle is known to have acted as a jail, and important men were occasionally imprisoned there. King Henry VI may have been held briefly as he was captured outside Clitheroe in 1464, during the Wars of the Roses. In 1506 the porter was imprisoned in his own jail after attending a meeting of armed men at Whalley.
The weather was not good but that did not stop the children from learning and having fun.

World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10th to address the growing need for awareness around mental health and to support and initiate policy reformations around mental health. The theme of this year is 'Mental health is a human right,' which was announced on March 29, 2023, by Dr Nasser Loza, President, World Federation For Mental Health (WFMH).
The children at Reedley are supporting this very important cause by dressing in yellow.
So many young people aren't getting the mental health support they need, when they need it. But together,we can show young people that you’re with them, no matter.
Below are some amazing photos of children enjoying the day while giving them the help and support needed.

10th November
World War One began in 1914 and ended in 1918. The war ended at exactly 11 o'clock in the morning of Sunday 11th November after both sides agreed to stop fighting. This truce was called the Armistice.
Many millions of soldiers died in those four years.
After the war, people remembered the soldiers who died every year on 11th November. This is called Remembrance Day.
- People remember those who were lost by holding a two-minute silence and by wearing a red poppy.
- On the nearest Sunday to Armistice Day, services are held in churches. People across the UK also have a two-minute silence as a sign of respect to those who died.
- In London, thousands of servicemen and women march past a memorial called the Cenotaph.
- On Remembrance Day people also think about those who lost their lives in World War Two and more recent conflicts.

Many children and young people experience some of their first positive relationships with teachers and mentors at school, and so we want to celebrate you.
