World Book Day
Dear Families,
World Book Day 2025, a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) reading, will take place on Thursday 6th March. The theme this year is ‘Read Your Way’ and encourages children and adults to discover how much fun and enjoyment they can have when reading or sharing a book.
We will be taking part in the celebrations and, if they wish, children can come to school dressed as a character from a fiction or non-fiction book of their choice. This could be from a traditional fairy tale, a science fiction story, an adventure story, a story by their favourite author, an information text – the possibilities are endless! There are some ideas on the World Book Day site: https://www.worldbookday.com/resource/dressing-up-ideas-for-parents/
We would love to invite you into school to join in the celebrations with us on Thursday 6th March. Each year group will be holding a half hour session for you to come and read with your child(ren). The timings are below:

Thursday 6th March
The children came into school dressed up as they favourite charcter.
Please see below some of our amazing characters:
The children got a chance to renew their library books and have a really good discussion with the group why they chose that particular book.
Later on, the children got to watch a virtual event all about the book called Dairy of a Future Billionire with the author Pamela Butchart.
The class took part in discussions and enjoyed in with the dialogue.
At the end, the children got to ask questions.
What is your favourite book?
Where do you get your ideas from?
Do you always work with the same illustrator?
The parents came into school to see how the children got on with their World Book Day activities and joined in.
