Home Learning 4th July

Hello Starlings.

Our school is being used as a Polling station today, and so we are all doing our learning at home.

Polling Day 2024 - Pam Lavina

Maths

We would love for you to work on Maths Whizz to achieve three blue gems by working in the Tutor area.

English

Our focus text this half term is 'Macavity'.

Create a 'wanted' poster for Macavity, the mystery cat. Use descriptions given in the poem to draw a suitable image of this feline fiend. Write a description using some of the key words from the text. I had included a Wanted poster template the original poem below in the Files. You can create your wanted poster with pens, pencils or maybe online using Purple Mash or Microsoft Word.

Reading

I bet you will be surprised how much reading you actually do throughout the day! Reading doesn't always have to take place with a book. Click on the link to explore what other reading you might be doing and get involved in the 24 hour reading challenge

What do you read throughout the day?

Spellings

As we are near to the end of the school year, it is important that you know all of the Y3-4 Statutory words. The more you can read and spell correctly, the easier you will find it in Y6 as some of these words will appear again.

Explore the Spelling quizzes that have been set as a 2Do on Purple Mash. Take your time and see if you can score 100%

You can find a list of all the Y3-4 Statutory words in the files below.

Science

Earlier this week we were learning about food chains. Click on the link to take part in the Food Chain Challenge
